Newborn Session
How to prepare for your Newborn Photo Session. . .
I have a small Home Studio in Ebbw Vale, complete with tea & coffee facilities, and comfortable seating.
If it's your first trip out, the studio is very baby friendly & relaxing, (lot's of parents fall asleep), just turn up & watch the magic happen.
Why book me?
I'm now an experienced newborn photographer, with many years of practice. I have sought out some of the best trainers in the business, from this country and abroad. I have also spent many, many hours improving my skills, (even having had many children & now grandchildren, it doesn't prepare you for this)
I may not be the cheapest around, but I'm certainly one of the more experienced, so you can trust me to handle your newborn with the utmost care & attention to get these gorgeous newborn images.
I will only photograph one newborn a day, I don't ever want to hurry a session. I want everyone to have a relaxing, enjoyable experience.
When Should you book?
Ideally at least a month or more before your due date, after your 20 weeks scan is ideal. Once the baby is born we can confirm the booking. Not to worry if the baby is early or late we can re-schedule to fit you in!
The ideal time to photograph your baby is when they are between 7-21days old as they are still quite sleepy and are happy to allow us to “pose” them.
What do I need?
I supply the props but if there is something specific you would like included ie a teddy bear or your babies first blanket... let me know and bring it with you!
How long will it take?
The newborn sessions can take 2-3 hours depending on how long it takes for baby to settle.
I usually ask you to feed the baby before you come, that way your baby is full, content and a bit more sleepy, but I'm very patient & relaxed if they decide not to sleep immediately!
During the shoot?
As mentioned previously the photoshoot can take up to 3 hours, but as a mother of eight children I'm sure we'll find something to chat about, sometimes Dads like to take a little snooze, my shusher helps with that .....
When do I get to see the photographs?
By the next day I will hope to post 1 low res watermarked images as a little sneak peak. It then usually takes me up to two weeks to edit your photographs, depending how busy I am.
I then invite you back to view all the images on a large screen, we then have fun trying to pick the photo's you want, this can take anywhere between 30 minutes & 1 1/2 hours - when they're all so gorgeous, it's a hard job :)
